Our allday wars in peace
I was invited by the literary magazine „Karussell“ to design the artistic contribution to the topic. I used some photographs from my almost thirty years of work, some of which are shockingly up-to-date. For some collages I have developed entirely new motifs
It tells about the supposedly small, insignifacnt events that burden everyday life, about the minor irritations that can lead to unexpected aggression and unwanted changes.
ErinnerungsWerke - MemoryWorks
Memories are constantly revised by the brain, since every time a memory is retrieved, there is an „unstable moment“ in which unconscious overlapping, supplementing or completely changing previous information takes place.
In this way, mixtures and changes of the supposedly safe contents arise wothout the possibility of consciously correcting or reverting to the primordial moment of remembrance.
I transfer thoughts, images and memories to three-dimensional materials that were not originally intendet for this purpose and reorganize their relationships to each other.

Heimat.Los
For some, „Heimat“ means a blurred construct of images, scenes, and memories of a past that is no longer tangible. They overlay each other, cover up, reveal what is not real sometimes to desperately lighten up, emphasize elsewhere, are intervowen and sewn together. It doesn’t matter whether it’s buried things from childhood days or recently abandoned places that are no longer worth living in.
Antwerpen
Aperture and shutter speed of an analogue camera was intentionally set „wrong“. During the exposure, the camera was moved slightly so that what was recorded on the negative became blurred.
Only colors and outlines remain of the depicted people, like an oversized aura. Human shells dissolve as if the images allowed a candid look into their souls.
